Foxhunters Return was designed by Irish master stone mason Hugh Kean. Unique Bed and Breakfast Accommodation Located in Campbell Town Tasmania, on the banks of the Elizabeth River, Foxhunters Return was established as a coaching inn to cater for the ever-increasing trade plying the then Midlands Highway, (now known as the Heritage Highway). Providing four and a half star heritage accommodation of the finest quality for business or pleasure, our beautifully appointed rooms, have individual heating with ensuite facilities. In recent years Foxhunters Return has enjoyed a complete restoration lovingly maintaining the original 1830's buildings including the stables. The four and a half star accommodation provides warm, comfortable lodgings for the most discerning traveller. The Pearson-Smiths purchased the property in January 2005. Sheila and Ken are continuing the fine tradition of a boutique heritage bed and breakfast establishment that the Foxhunters Return already enjoys.
Enjoy a Devonshire Tea served in the heritage dining room or courtyard area of this unique period property. The original courtyard is also perfect for enjoying some fine Tasmanian wines or relax with a glass or two before the open fire in our guest sitting room. Foxhunters Return was originally established as a coaching inn, located halfway between Hobart and Launceston. The beautiful colonial building is now unique heritage bed and breakfast accommodation adjacent to the Red Bridge in Campbell Town, Tasmania. Listed by the National Trust as 'the finest and most substantial hotel building of the late colonial period in Australia'.
